Rutgers inventor Nicholi Vorsa wins Edison Patent Award

Rutgers inventor Nicholi Vorsa has won the Research and Development Council of New Jersey 2008 Thomas Alva Edison Patent Award. Dr. Vorsa's Cranberry variety named "NJS98-23," also known as Crimson Queen, was selected as a winner in the Agriculture Category.

The story of the Crimson Queen (below) was also selected for inclusion in the AUTM Better World Project.

Professor Ben Sopranzetti Guest Lectures

BEST Managing Director Professor Ben Sopranzetti volunteered his Saturday on October 18th to guest lecture foir the graduate level business course, New Ventures taught by fellow BEST Director Dr. Rick Mammone.  The students were enthusiastic and appreciative of  the keen insights of Dr. Soranzetti's talk.  "It was great that we get to hear about different perspectives from both professors" said one student. Randal Pinkett Talk a Huge Hit at Corporate Day

Dr. Randal Pinkett, Chairman and CTO of BCT Partners and winner of NVC's The Apprentice with Donald Trump delivered an inspiring talk among the more than 300 students and faculty recently. Attendees enjoyed Pinkett's remembrances of his undergraduate days at Rutgers, his entrepreneurship, and his journey to become the Donald's apprentice. Dr. Pinkett was the honored keynote at Corporate Computing Day held September 25th. Read more

RBS Holds First Business Plan Competition Mixer

The Rutgers Entrepreneurial Society hosted its first Business Plan Matching Mixer on Wednesday, December 10, 2008 This series is designed to help Rutgers Business School students partner with students from other disciplines in order to qualify for competition.. The Official Rules state that each team must have at least one Rutgers Business School student, who is either an undergraduate senior, graduate student or recent alumni on their team in order to enter.
